Midnight Breeze is a living, mythological universe built around the Lonely Road, a place where spirits wander at night, memories take shape, and the wind carries what was left unsaid. It began in December 2021 as one of the first generative art projects to shift the focus away from characters and toward atmosphere, landscape, and subtle storytelling. Instead of avatars, Midnight Breeze invited collectors to step into quiet scenes, konbinis at 2AM, empty roads, distant lights, and find their own reflection within them. But Midnight Breeze was never just imagery.

It is about Nostalgia, introspection, that feeling of standing underneath the night sky late at night looking at the stars. Each piece is a fragment of the Lonely Road, and ownership is part of the journey. Minted at 0.069 ETH, the original 6969-piece collection sold out in 40 minutes, marking the beginning of a community that continues to walk the road together. Since then, the project has expanded beyond the digital realm through hand-printed physical editions, bringing the midnight air into tangible form. With nearly 5,000 ETH in total volume and a dedicated global community, Midnight Breeze continues to evolve ,not just as a collection, but as a growing ecosystem of story, art, and participation. The road is still there. The wind is still moving. And the journey is far from over.

Dutchtide, an artist from the Netherlands, specialises in digital painting, 3D, animation, and concept art. With a deep understanding of lighting, colour, and emotional subtleties, his work is heavily influenced by classic anime and vaporwave aesthetics. He often blends these styles exploring the intricate contrasts through the Japanese concept of "Ma" (間), meaning "space" or the "in-between state," to evoke a strong emotional response.

Since 2019, Dutchtide has led his indie studio, with "Midnight Breeze" standing as his magnum opus and longest-running project. Livestreaming the process daily in his Discord, he brought the community into the creative journey. Inspired by Japanese artists, his work explores themes of life, death, presence, and absence, gamifying these ideas to create a unique collectible experience for participants.

What is fragmentation?

This new collection exists out off 3031 new fragments.

We use the word fragments to refer to the new tokens registered on the Ethereum

blockchain.

Fragments throughout the website are displayed as stars. The stars lead the way for those

who wander the lonely road.

When you fragment a MidnightBreeze the original token is send to the burn address.

And a new token is minted in the MidnightBreeze fragments collection.

The two collections are separate , to show the story and progress of this world. But are also

connected. MidnightBreeze in its entirety is 10000 collectibles. But MidnightBreeze as a

whole is one singular artwork. Existing out of 10000 fragments.

The correlation between the two collections can be seen as followed.

Imagine that your artwork is a storyboard. An implication of that what could be.

Your fragment would be the animated window into that original storyboard. Each unique and

different from the last.

The choice to fragment is an important one, as it is an irreversible process. However, it

allows you, unlike those who mint a fragment, to speculate and see what will happen if you

do commit. This can lead to benefits that cannot be gained through minting.

Vice versa however a similar case happens, those who mint may have pieces that cannot be

found in the original collection. That tell a different story, have different rarity attributes, and a

different aesthetic altogether.

The fragment process is free for those who own the MidnightBreeze token save for the cost

of the gas fee.

Overall though, fragmentation is about being part of a bigger whole. A singular piece telling

the story of thousands, through your own interpretation.
